NROCKS sister company, The Outdoor Learning Center, manages programs at two locations. Camp Horizons in Harrisonburg, VA is situated on 300 acres at the base of the Massanutten Mountain and the Mountain Campus in Luray, VA is situated on 130 acres bordering the Shenandoah National Park. Their scenic campuses provide the ideal environment for participants to relax, take healthy risks, challenge themselves, forge new friendships and learn about the natural world. Dedicated to outdoor education, they have been offering quality day and residential programs for over 30 years. Throw Open the Doors of your Classroom!
The Outdoor Learning Center school programs unite classroom disciplines and outdoor education with the spontaneity of exploration and cooperation. It brings intangible skills to life through problem solving, effective communication, leadership initiatives, and community spirit. The students will also play an active role in the learning process through “challenge by choice,” a philosophy that encourages them to participate in challenging activities but respects personal goals. We work with individual teachers to identify the needs and desired outcomes of each class; the program for every group is a custom design.
